In your situation, how about using nLite or other tool to build a slipstreamed XP + Intel driver so the driver will be available during installation? Follow the Mr Steve solution it seem ok .. my bios is up to dated, and i set drive signing to ignore. All is fine and not so complicated to do, even easy. the controllers that the drivers support will be list in the window below. maybe i'm too excited since it works after fail to slipstream the vista x64 ..
