do you loose you files when creating new boot sector? That fixboot part is the most important thing to do. you can ask your friend to give his hard disk for few moments ! :) Hope you have some hardware knowledge as well...... I tried to fix it with a Windows 7 Boot CD. It could take a really long time. Sos Wee when I get to command line: C:> chkdsk /r , I get a message saying "the volume appears to contain one or more unrecoveralbe problems". this content I know have to make the decision of going for a new HDD or a new laptop as this one is already 4 years old. –Kanini Oct 10 '09 at 11:40
