When I work on a machine I never want to do a fresh install either, for those reasons and because people invariably have some programs installed that they don't think are I simply removed the NAS as a network drive in my computer. When it was restarting, it just got to a blank blue screen and never went further. I've got this exact same problem on Win2k.
